The Department of Human Services (DHS) Licensing Division invites you to attend an upcoming webinar on abbreviated inspections. These sessions will be held via WebEx and will include a presentation by the National Association for Regulatory Administration (NARA) on key indicators systems for abbreviated inspections. Additionally, a survey will be available to gather input on the eligibility criteria for abbreviated inspections.

Abbreviated inspections are licensing inspections that include a subset of standards known as key indicators, which statistically predict compliance with the entire list of standards. In addition to the key indicators, abbreviated inspections will also include:

•licensing standards which have been determined to be essential to include in all inspections, and

•a randomly selected set of licensing standards.

Licensed child care providers are monitored annually for compliance with licensing standards. An abbreviated inspection would allow providers who qualify to receive a shorter annual review that is focused on a specific subset of standards. Please register for one of the virtual sessions below. All four webinars will be identical, so you only need to register for one:

•Thursday, November 3rd from 1 – 2:00pm

•Thursday, November 10th from 6 – 7:00pm

•Wednesday, November 16th from 1 – 2:00pm

Attending a webinar will best prepare participants to complete the survey. If you are not able to attend any of the sessions but would still like to provide input, please email the project team at ccregmodernization.DHS@state.mn.us and we can send you a survey link. The survey will be open through November 18, 2022.
