MCCA Fall Mini-Conference: The Rubber Hits the Road

The 2023 Minnesota Legislative Session brought both massive investments and policy changes for child care, and providers are now beginning to experience some of them.  Join MCCA to hear from those representing some of Minnesota’s state agencies implementing the following:

  • New Minnesota Department of Children, Youth & Families
  • Great Start Compensation Support Payments
  • Child Care Assistance Program Payment Changes
  • Licensing Updates: staff distribution, definition of experience, and safe sleep (pacifiers, anyone?)

We will collect questions in advance of this event to make content as meaningful for participants as possible.

Please enter your questions/comments about the following sections of the mini-conference agenda on the registration form.

  • Creation/operation/goals of a new Department of Children, Youth & Families.
  • Implementation of new Great Start Compensation Support Payments.
  • Increases in CCAP rates/ability to collect full rates even if private pay families receive discounted tuition.
  • Changes to licensing including staff distribution (aides), definition of “experience,” and safe sleep rules.

The live Zoom link will be included in the registration confirmation and reminder emails and the program will be recorded and a link to view the recording will be sent to every registered attendee.

DHS Handout information:

  • If you registered before 4:30pm on November 6th, the handout has been included in the event reminder email that was sent out at 4:30pm on November 6th.
  • If you registered AFTER 4:30pm on November 6th, the handout has been included in the event registration confirmation email.
